Saving Your Money Is Saving For Your Family

by Sherry
(Cheyenne,Wyoming)

I am a stay at home mom of two children, both under the age of eight years old. My husband is the only one working at this time and his income really needs to stretch for our little family. We have developed many ways to save money and time over these past few years.

Our first and most money saving route is in regard to shopping. Since I do have 2 small children, I have found that shopping at second hand stores are the best for clothing and shoes.

Most people look down on second hand stores. I have found that most, if not all of these stores have brand new items! Most of these items are only there due to over stock and season change.

These new items vary in needs as well. I have discovered that you can get not only new clothes, but also things like diapers, sleep pants, bottles, and cribs even.

Since they are donated or sold really cheap to these stores you get a price saving of up to 75% off if not more. I have to say that I go to these stores at least three times a week.

This next way of saving money is going to sound really weird, but it has helped my family more than you can know.

Do you know those pesky little bags you get from your local grocery store?Ever wonder what to do with them? Well, try this and you will consider them pesky again.

I used to have so many of them around the house that I started throwing them away. My daughter had this recycle project for school that made the parents recycle their plastic.

She had to write what she recycled and how. It was a major part of her grade, so we had to get inventive. I decided to take all those bags and use them for garbage bags in our house.

They are fantastic! Your garbage never stinks, the bag never breaks, and they are free! I not only use them for my garbage but to clean up my dog feces to.

I use one as a glove and the other to bag. They are easy to store in a Capri sun box under my sink. Believe it or not, you can store at least fifty of those bags in there. Just think, you never have to buy trash bags again. My family hasn't in over two years.

The last and final way to help your children while saving money is child care. You and your spouse can work alternating shifts. This way you don't have to pay for child care.

I work from home, so that way I can continue to be with my family and make money. There are many scams out there, so you have to be cautious. However, if you can find a job based inside your home, your family is really going to reap the rewards.

I hope this has helped you with money saving ideas for you and your family. I know it has ours. There are tons of ways to save your money in these terrible times we are in. We just have to change the way we look at things and reuse the things we have all around us.
