The first magical rule to designing a budget or your wedding is not buying one of the budgeting books that walk you step by step through every little thing you need to do.
You’re already on to the trick of this rule, (YAYYYY GO YOU! Smart Cookies!), but what could it be? The internet! Seriously, Google

How about having an early morning wedding rather than an evening? Early morning weddings are shown to be less expensive. The more you find ways to cut your costs, the more room in your wedding budget you are going to get for the things you “have to have”.
Every fairy tale has three wishes, but the one stipulation is always “you can’t wish for more wishes.” This is the same case when coming up with a wedding budget; you can’t wish for more money than you can afford to spend.
As much as I would love to own and/or move into the Disney castle, I know that will never be a possibility for me. So my fiancé and I set up a firm budget and try to stick to it wherever possible.
Do not freak out when something goes a little over! Just try to breath, regroup yourself and find something else to pinch a little off of.
This is not to say there is not going to be crying, gallon of ice cream eating, oh crap I need to fit into my dress, why did I eat that gallon of ice cream moments, but there will be less if you are organized.
Write down every little thing you buy for your wedding. The wedding budget will be a lot easier to keep track of if you know when the card was swiped or wallet was opened.
This way you will physically see where to stay in the sea, or ask for legs and roam the land. (What? No, that made perfect sense.) OK, in other words, by doing this you will be able to see what items you might need to slow your roll on.
Presenting an original remix on a classic Disney tune: “Zalla kazzoooo a mencha kabooooo (there it is again) a bippiadi boppidi boo, internet, DIY, organization, put it together and what do you get? A wedding budget you can stick to, bippiadi boppidi booooooo.”
Well, I know! All kidding aside, as a fellow Bride I can truly say that I know how you’re feeling right now. Planning a wedding is totally stressful.
Not only do you have people who think you should do what they want, but you have to try to be nice to said people while getting the wedding you want at the same time.
Add in the fact that wedding budgets these days are steadily climbing and let’s face it; most of us don’t have the money in this economy. Grooms, I know I didn’t appeal to you in most of this article but the same tips would apply to you.
Be supportive of your future wife in her craziness. After all, sometimes we ladies need a little support, or we just might take that wedding budget to another whole level. Gold plates with pink monogrammed etching anyone?
If you take one lesson out of this page it should be from the paragraph above this one, just breath. As stressful as the planning and the wedding budget get, it’s just a wedding. The love you share is the most important thing.
