Saving Money By Spending Wisely
Saving Money By Spending Wisely is an easy to learn comparing price's guide. This can truly help you save money while shopping for just about anything.
Step one = Prioritize
That’s right get your priorities in order, Before you go shopping make a list of the things you are going after. On this list make two columns, in the first column write the word Needs. In the next column put Wants.
Now under each column decide if what you are shopping for is a need (something you or your family requires in order to function), or a Want ( an item or items you can live without / something not required to live).
Step Two = Set your spending amount
Look at your budget and set an exact dollar amount that you will allow yourself to spend. You can do this on a weekly or monthly basis. My family does this monthly.
Example
With five children, you would think that we would have a large grocery bill, but once we set our spending amount to three hundred dollars a month, we began searching for deals and buying in bulk. We stick to our budget, and we naturally found ways to attain those more expensive items on a smaller amount of money.
Step Three = compare.
In this day and age, comparing prices is extremely easy. Almost every major store is set up to shop online. Let's say you want a new coffee maker, in less than ten minutes you can pull up the price of your coffee maker on wal-mart, k-mart, target, and so on. Not only is this method faster, but it also saves money. You are not driving all over town trying to find the best deal, and with gas prices being as high as they are the less driving you have to do the better.
Step Four = Shop
You now have your list, the amount you are going to spend, and you have researched out the best price. You are almost ready to shop. I would like to cover a few Saving Money By Spending Wisely ground rules that must be followed in order for this to work.
1. Do not spend more than you have set for yourself in your spending amount. 2. Stick to your list! 3. Purchase needs first and wants only if your spending amount allows after your needs items have been purchased. 4. Do not stray, you have researched the best price before you left your home, so go straight to the stores with the best prices and stay away from the rest. If you see something you may need or want in a store window do not run in and buy it. Purchase what is on your list and add that item to you next list to be subjected to a price comparison. It might cost less somewhere else. 5. Praise yourself!!! That’s right if you did a good job and followed the rules and saved money, go ahead and praise yourself.
