Money Saving Tricks

We all know the simple money saving tricks like putting your money in your fire proof safe and in your freezer, but everyone knows about these hiding places. Let's jump out side the box for a minute and talk about some really cool places to stash the cash.

1. Buy a soda can safe. Soda can safes look identical to a can of your favorite unopened soda, the top screws off for you to place your money, small jewelry items, and other valuables. Most soda can safes are fire proof as well. Please let your family know what it is so your child doesn’t come home from school and try to drink your money.

2. Picture frames are another excellent place to stash the cash. Pick out one or more picture frames in your home and put your money in between the picture and backing.

3. Place your money in a Ziploc bag and bury it in your house plants. This does not work well if you have cats, but of course if you have cats you probably don’t have any house plants.

4. Duct tape it to your Doberman Pinscher. Really, who is going to try and steal your money if it is attached to the collar of your Doberman. If you prefer smaller dogs that might work as well. If someone brakes into your house a little dog will run to hide.

5. Hide your money in the lint trap on your clothes dryer, but remember laundering money is illegal.

6. Stick your money in a tampon box. Unless it’s the robber's time of the month it’s a pretty sure bet that your cash will be safe.

7. Bury it in your back yard, place a wooden cross on it with the name mittens, and place a fake flower or two.

8. A fish tank is another good place to stash the cash. Please make sure you put it in a water proof bag before placing it under the gravel and water.

9. You can also hide your money in an old toy in the bottom of the toy chest. Just make sure your children know not to touch it, or it is an old toy they never ever play with.

10. Last but not least, Keep your money in your shoe (make sure you wear it). Unless someone steals your sneaker right off your foot, this is a very safe place.

There you have it, my top ten Money Saving Tricks, take them or leave them. If you have any really interesting hiding places for your money, please contact me and title it stash your cash. If it makes the grade, I will publish it and give you the credit.
