Debt consolidation can actually help your credit score as well. There are several common forms of debt consolidation that are based on the same principle-lowering and eliminating payments and decreasing interest rates.


There is bill consolidation that combines them all into one payment by working with your creditors (used mainly with credit cards) and consumer debt consolidation loans in which you obtain a loan for the amount you owe different creditors and use that loan to pay them all off.



Another form is debt settlement . It is similar to debt consolidation and can be used in specific situations, especially when you have had difficulty making payments and may be falling behind on your payments. These methods are alike yet they have different benefits and requirements.
